A new Upper Hunter Country Tourism (UHCT) guide was recently launched for tourists to discover the ‘hidden beauty’ of the region.
The guide has over 60 pages promoting events, attractions and activities from festivals to businesses, to townships in the Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter shires. It also includes artistic maps of the area by designer Liz Aneli, a business directory, and much more.
The creation of the guide as well as an upgrade to the UHCT website upperhuntercountry.com was made possible with funding from the BHP Local Buying Foundation totalling over $18,000, along with support from Muswellbrook Shire Council and Upper Hunter Shire Council.
Steve Tilse, President of the Upper Hunter Country Tourism Board said that the board would like to publicly thank the foundation, as well as the councils for helping them create professional looking designs that run across both mediums; print and digital.
BHP Local Buying Foundation Chairperson Deirdra Tindale said the visitor guide is a great initiative from Upper Hunter Country Tourism.
“The Upper Hunter has so many great things to offer, from weekend getaways to family-friendly festivals. The foundation is focused on increasing economic development opportunities in our region; this guide was an excellent fit,” Ms Tindale said.
The guide is available for free at your local Visitor Information Centre or Council Administration Centre in the region.
