A playful corten-steel town gateway featuring leaping sheep and a cattle dog at southern Murrurundi.
At the southern entrance to Murrurundi, an eye-catching corten steel sculpture welcomes travellers into town. Created by local sculptors Fran Wachtel and Charlotte Drake-Brockman, the playful gateway shows sheep leaping over the town name while a cattle dog herds them along. The work reflects Murrurundi’s strong rural identity and the long creative partnership between the two artists, who have produced distinctive steel sculptures across the region.
