Join Australia Day celebrations in Merriwa, Murrurundi, and Scone on Sunday, 26 January 2020. This year Aberdeen and Scone ceremonies will be combined, held in Scone.
Congratulate our Upper hUnter Australia Day Award winners, meet the Australia Day Ambassadors and enjoy free afternoon entry at the local pools.
The Upper Hunter Shire will celebrate at the following locations:
Murrurundi: 8.00am Murra County Markets, Wilson Memorial Oval.
10.00am Grand Parade starts from Rosedale Complex
11.30am Ambassador’s Address, Australia Day Awards, cricket and other games.
Merriwa: 10.30am at the Merriwa RSL, Ambassador’s Address, Australia Day Awards followed by a free BBQ lunch.
Scone (including Aberdeen): 8.30am Council Chambers 135 Liverpool St, BBQ breakfast.
9.30am Awards Ceremony including Australian Citizenship, Ambassador’s Address and Australia Day Awards.
In the afternoon there is free entry and entertainment at the local pools: 2.00pm to 6.00pm at Merriwa; 1.00pm to 6.00pm at Murrurundi; and 12.00pm to 4.00pm in Scone.
