An authentic 1889 slab cottage packed with original household and farming artefacts from Murrurundi's past.

Murrurundi Pioneer Cottage was originally built in 1889 on Allston farm near Timor Way and later dismantled and reassembled in town in the late 1990s. The slab-wood cottage has four rooms filled with original household and farming items, including milk churns, lanterns, treadle sewing machines and newspaper-lined walls. Outside, the site includes a dunny and stables containing a one-horse dray, sulky and other nineteenth-century farm equipment.
