TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CAPTURE THE ESSENCE of The Upper Hunter Photography Competition is designed to share captured moments of the Upper Hunter, New South Wales, Australia from Denman Muswellbrook, Sandy Hollow, Scone, Aberdeen, Merriwa, Bunnan, Cassilis, Gundy, Moonan Flat/Brook, Barrington Tops, Jerry’s Plains, Murrurundi and Wingen.
This photography competition aspires to showcase the Upper Hunter through photographs reflecting their creative perspective of the area.
We are inviting you to share your favorite snaps with caption, including when and where the image was taken and what inspired you to capture the image.

The competition opens 16 October 2020. The competition Closes 4 December 2020 and Winners announced 11 December 2020.
Each Category winner will receive a $1,000.00 cash prize.
Eligibility
- The Upper Hunter Photography Competition is open to all ages.
- Entrants may enter as many images as they like, as many times as they like.
- Each entry must be submitted separately.
Images & Submission
- Entry is Free.
- Images must be 100% photographic in origin, using film or digital. They may be images captured via camera, iPhone, or another device. The use of stock art, clip art or other elements not captured at the location are not permitted.
- All images must be submitted online. Digital files are required. Prints are not accepted as part of the competition.
- Images must be no larger than 3MB.
- Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format. Please do not submit TIFF, PSD, DNG, or other file formats.
- Image files should be named as follows: LastName_Firstname_catergory _imagetitle. Please do not include unusual characters such as @, #, $, %, &, *, (, ), ©.
- Images must be free of text, logos, watermarks, or any other identifying marks. Images with text, identifying marks or watermarks will not be considered.
- Entries should be accompanied by a caption, including when and where the image was taken and what inspired you to capture the image.
- You may enter as may images as you like. There is no limit on the number of images per person. Each image needs to be submitted separately.
- Email entries to: comp@upperhuntercountry.com along with your name, Category, phone & address.
- By submitting your entry, you agree to the Terms and Conditions and declare that you are the creator and copyright owner of the image.
- Only one entry should be uploaded per submission.
The competition closes on 4 December 2020 at 5pm AEST. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed, or misdirected entries.
Copyright
- Entrants retain copyright ownership of their images. However, by entering the competition, entrants provide Upper Hunter Country Tourism NSW authorisation to publish entered photos for the purposes of promotional material, promoting the competition, and promoting Upper Hunter Country Tourism in general. Images will be credited with the name of the photographer when used in any publicity for the competition.
- Entrants must be the creator and copyright owner of any images entered into the competition.
- All post-production and editing must be the work of the entrant.
- The entrant is responsible for obtaining relevant model or other releases.
Judging
- Entries will be shortlisted and judged by a selected judging panel.
- Judges’ decisions are final, and no further correspondence will be entered into.
Winners
- Winners will be announced 11 December 2020 via the Upper Hunter Country Facebook Page The full name of winners & short-listed finalists will be published.
- Each Category winner will receive a $1,000.00 cash prize.
- The top 50 entrants will be asked to provide high resolution digital files where available. Images captured on iPhones or similar devices are exempt.
Prizes
- Each Category winner will receive a $1,000.00 cash prize.
General
- The entrant indemnifies Upper Hunter Country ABN 43 141 857 613 against any claim, legal or otherwise, that may arise out of publication of the images.
- Upper Hunter Country Tourism reserves the right to disqualify any entry deemed to be in breach of Terms and Conditions.
- By entering this competition, the entrant guarantees to Upper Hunter Country Tourism that all the Terms and Conditions of the competition has been met. Any entry found to breach the Terms and Conditions will be disqualified and all prizes must be returned to Upper Hunter Country Tourism.
