8 to 17 May 2020, Scone – The Scone Horse Festival is a unique event and is celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary this year. It takes place in beautiful Scone and the surrounding Upper Hunter Valley each year in May. More than 60 experiences over 10 days culminating with a spectacular fireworks display at the picturesque Lake Glenbawn.
9 May 2020, Scone – One of Australia’s Premier Rodeo events. Cowboys & Cowgirls from all over Australia, competing on Rodeo Stock sourced from Major Contractors. Market Stalls, Side Shows, Food Stalls, Licenced Bar and Live Band at the conclusion of the Rodeo Competition.
April 2020, Merriwa – The feature event of the Merriwa Racing Calendar is the running of the Merriwa Cup, held annually in April.
28 February to 1 March 2020, Murrurundi – A full program of Festival events and entertainment offering something for all the family from Friday through to Sunday.
27 March 2020, Muswellbrook – One of the Upper Hunter’s ‘must attend’ social events in Autumn is incorporated into a progressive and exciting festival in Muswellbrook in late March.
15 to 16 May 2020, Scone – One of the biggest country race days on the NSW racing calendar and a half day public holiday in Scone. The two day Darley Scone Cup Carnival incorporating this Darley Scone Cup Race Day and the Inglis Guineas & Coolmore Dark Jewel Race Day.
29 February to 1 March 2020, Muswellbrook – Dubs by the Lake will return to Lake Liddell in 2020. This time around they will be raising money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. A great family weekend.
6 June 2020 – The Denman Farmers & Artisans Market is a predominantly producers only market in the Upper Hunter Valley.
June Long Weekend 2020 – Variety stalls, Childrens entertainment, shearing demonstrations, Team Penning, State Championship Sheep Yard Dog Trials, Whip Cracking, My Pet Dinosaur, Sparkles the Clown, Big Dog, and Fireworks. Watch over 150 sheep wearing red socks in the Rosto Running of the Sheep.
4 July 2020 – The Games begin with a spectacular parade of bands, clan representatives and others that leads into the Massed Band Salute and Chieftain’s Address that officially opens the day.
