Tune up! Hitting the high notes

The Upper Hunter region is a vibrant place for participating in musical activities. The Scone Singers, Muswellbrook Amateur Theatrical Society (MATS) and the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music all contribute to a vibrant performing arts culture.

In July 2016 MATS staged the much loved family musical The Sound of Music at Muswellbrook High School.

Early in 2016 the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music moved into a purpose-built $6.5 million dollar facility in the heart of the Upper Hunter region located in Muswellbrook at the iconic Campbell's Corner building.

The Upper hunter Conservatorium of Music had it's Gala Opening Concert and open weekend on April the 2nd 2016. It is now open to residents and visitors to the region for regular concerts and recitals.

The Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music has taught thousands of students delivering quality music education across a wide variety of instruments to all ages and skill levels.

Founded in 1997, the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music is recognised today as a leading contributor to a thriving musical and cultural presence in the Upper Hunter region. In addition to providing music education to most areas of the Upper Hunter region, the conservatorium also provides opportunities for students of all ages, levels and backgrounds to pursue and achieve their musical and theatrical aspirations, through participation in Early Childhood Music, one of the UHCM ensembles and a specialised musical education.
