Jane Rutter brings "An Irish Fantasy" to Gundy

Free Spirit Classical Flutist Jane Rutter plays gold, silver, wooden flutes, and Irish whistles in lyrical, enchanting concert. Based around her #No1 Album: Fire and Water: An Irish Fantasy.

Jane’s hauntingly beautiful flutes evoke the romance of the old country as she enchants audiences with this Irish classical concert. Undoubtedly Australia’s finest and best loved flute player, Jane brings her trademark passionate lyricism to music which has captivated audiences throughout the ages. Don’t miss this chance to see and hear Australian classical flute superstar in Irish mode.

Accompanied by the Fear An Bhata Ensemble:(string trio and harp), the concert is mixture of lush and lively music, presented with warmth and wit: from lyrical tunes to jaunty jigssteeped in tradition, the programme includes a collection of Baroque gigues, da Falla’s Ritual Fire Dance, and famous Irish and Celtic melodies, including:

  • The Mistrel Boy,
  • The Kerry Dance,
  • My Heart Will Go On,
  • She Moved through the Fair,
  • I Dreamt That I Dwelt in Marble Halls,
  • Finnegan’s Wake,
  • and the Irish tune from County Derry (Danny Boy).
