Follow the F3 Freeway exiting at the New England Highway and head north to Muswellbrook or follow Tourist Route 33 from the F3 towards Peats Ridge.
Alternatively, you can travel along the scenic Putty Road from Windsor through Yengo National Park and on to the Golden Highway to Denman or to Singleton and the New England Highway.
From the West
The main link to Upper Hunter Country from the west and central NSW is the Golden Highway leading from Dubbo into Merriwa.
From Canberra and the South
The Tablelands Way links to the newly sealed Bylong Valley Way via Bathurst, Sofala and Ilford. The Bylong Valley way is a fascinating drive through the Goulburn River National Park and joins the Golden Highway at Sandy Hollow.
From the North
Follow the New England Highway via Tamworth into Murrurundi or by the Fossiker's Way via Nundle into Timor.
From the East Coast
Travel via Gloucester and over the Barrington Tops for a scenic journey leading into Scone. Alternatively, follow the Pacific Highway unitl it meets with the New England Highway at Hexham or cut across the countryside via Dungog, Gresford, Singleton and on to Muswellbrook.
